Are Modibodi Period Undies safe? Â
YES they are! Here at Modibodi HQ, we always want our customers to feel safe in the knowledge that our underwear is designed to provide a safe, comfortable and superior performance product.Â
Why is Modibodi safe?Â
Our underwear is crafted using specifically chosen fabrics, designs and manufacturing techniques and where necessary specifically chosen approved treatments. We follow a strict protocol to assess inputs into our products and meet the highest global and EU standards.Â
The Modibodi range is certified according to Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex which means that every single component has been tested for harmful substances and that the underwear has been designated as harmless for human health.Â
We know some of our customers are worried about odour so to put their minds at ease some designs include an antimicrobial treatment on the absorbent middle layer of the lining, away from the skin. The treatment is called Agion and is an approved EU regulated antimicrobial containing silver copper zeolite and silver zeolite. It is not a nanoparticle. It is commonly used in sporting apparel to manage odour. Â
However, for those who prefer an alternative our ModiBasics collection does not include an antibacterial treatment.Â
What’s next?Â
As a leader in innovation, at Modibodi our Product and Sustainability teams are constantly researching and assessing our products against performance and sustainability standards and reviewing new technology as it comes to market.Â
In early 2023 we began removing Agion from our products and by the end of 2024 no Modibodi products will contain the antimicrobial treatment, instead relying on our wool wicking layer which naturally controls odour and for our synthetic fabrics a non-silver odour support treatment. We have been reviewing bio-based options to assist with odour control.Â
We continue to test new innovations and research opportunities to improve our products from a sustainability, health and safety perspective.   Â
